Back On Top!

Thank you Team USA for not letting us down. Now that we have taken back what is rightfully ours to begin with, let's not lose it again.

In case you missed the show last night, the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games have come to an end and the closing ceremony was pretty serious.

Live Crabs!

Dungeness Crab VS. Alaskan King Crab

I just wanna know what ya'll think and prefer. Personally, its a very hard decision, but I'm gonna have to go with the Dungeness on this one. I just had some real delicious ones while I was in the Bay area this past weekend and this was just a question that came to mind. Let know what ya'll think!

R.I.P. Uncle Bernie & Isaac Hayes

"Where's the cookies and s*&t??" - Bernie Mac (10/05/1957 - 10/09/2008)

American comedian Bernie Mac passed away on August 9th, 2008 from pneomonia. The actor/comedian was only 50 years old. My earliest recollection of Bernie Mac came when I first saw Above The Rim, a film in which Bernie played the character Flip, a homeless dude who often tried to play ball with the main character Kyle Watson. Flip eventually gets slayed by Birdie (Tupac Shakur).

He was also one of the funnier comedians in The Original Kings of Comedy, which also starred other comedians such as Steve Harvey, DL Hughley, and Cedric the Entertainer.

"They Say This Cat Shaft Is a Bad Motha (Shut yo mouth!!)..."

American soul singer Isaac Hayes (10/1942 - 10/2008) was found dead in his home in Tennessee a few days ago. The cause of the death is still unknown but physicians believe that it might be related to a stroke that he had a couple of years ago. Also, I found this SAMPOLOGY of Isaac Hayes by DJ Parlor, which culminates the career of this American legend over at Up To Par...dope mix, please check it out.

Wade is back!

"DWade bringin the Miami Heat, like Weezy breaks down a Manny beat..."

That guy... the one who disappeared from Championship status for 2 years is finally back. If you guys have been watching Team USA, you'd easily agree with me. He looks like he's back to his original athleticism and he's improved his shot.

For those of you that play fantasy basketball, you better take a good look at him.

Unfortunately, I have some doubts about Team USA Basketball. Please see below for my reasons.

1. Lack of a center. Dwight Howard is not a real center that is efficient with helping out on defense. Someone please tell me how many blocks he's averaging so far. How come the roster only has one center? Twilight zone... dun dun dun.

2. Lack of international style point guard. Deron and Chris Paul are slow down type players who can be argued scoring points. Paul can't really shoot the 3. J Kidd is old and overrated, but a true point. I seen the opponents pack and sag when Kidd is in the game. You tell me... where's the ball movement?

3. Inability to guard against the 3. You want a coach that can stop international ball? You better bring in some Poppovich help. Not some D'antoni anti-defense. The only team that plays great pick and roll defense is Spurs... I don't even know if anyone in the NBA knows it.

4. Kobe is a defensive stopper? Who the heck tells the most talented offensive player in the world to focus on defense? Idiots.

5. FIBA Officials aren't NCAA Officials. Sorry Coach K, you won't get the calls that you usually get.

6. Team skills are not there yet. These other international teams have been playing for at least 3 years together. They even grew up playing together. It's not always about athleticism!

Good luck! I hope the US wins the gold but to me, they're not the favorites.

Hope All Ya'll Had a Great Weekend Like Me!!

"As I Step Out To The Arizona Sunset...."
Love Is Gone - David Guetta
This past weekend my good friend Matt came down from Los Angeles with a few friends of his. Because there were 5 of them and 6 including yours truly, we also got a chance to stay at the Westin at Kierland. Beautiful resort.

My people got in late Friday evening and we just ordered room service and popped a couple bottles. After a few drinks we decided that it was way too hot so we took a dip at the 24 hour pool. Thanks for making us keep quiet security! P.S. Sorry ONBs for not being able to make it to Suede. One Love.

The next day we took advantage of the gorgeous sunny day and spent the rest of the afternoon laying out by the pool and teaching my boy Q how to swim (I thought Koreans knew how to get it done in the water, no?). Matt and UJK really missed out on a fantastic day.

Later that evening we went to Matt's home away from home, aka Myst. Thanks El for holding us down at the bar. Good times were had. Plus whoever that DJ was, he was killin it. (Kellen, you left right before he spun some Guetta, but I got you....there is a link at the top of this post in case you need to hear it).

And Sunday morning, as usual, spent the day with the Man upstairs for some serious nourishment for our souls. Thanks for watching over us and keeping us safe.

Special thanks to...Mandoo, Q, UJK, Burrito Monster, Byuntaesaurus, JaeHot, Techno K, my cousin Goon, HenMart and El at the BAR for making it a great weekend for me.

Good People + Good Food + Good Drinks + Good Music = One hell of a time!!
