Attempted Robbery With A Rock?

"I roll more stones than Mick Jagger"

I'm not sure if you heard the story about the 10 year-old-girl from Franklin, Tennessee. If you haven't, here it is. Really? A rock? I'm sure that the dude that got hit by the rock was SHOOK!! Word is that she ran away from her home and tried to rob a Mapco Express with a rock. This reminds me when I was about 10 years old when my mom and I got into it. I said some things (that would make any parent want to slap the taste out their child's mouth) and pushed my mama to the limit. So she slapped yours truly across the face and I ran out that door faster than Carl Lewis did in the '84 olympics. I was about to run over to my boy Double's place but she caught up to me in her ES300 real quick and made me get in. So my question to all of you is.....

Have you ever ran away from home? and for how long?

On some brighter news....Happy birthday Mariah!

The songstress and Queen of Pop turns 38 years old today. 38? She'd be out of the league by now! Shaq's not even 38. But she can still rock the mic and the girl, i mean woman, got body like she's in her twenties. Keep doing your thang Mariah. Her new album entitled E = MC2 drops April 15th. I'm sure it'll be a decent pop album courtesy of Mr. "You Know What It Is" aka Jermaine Dupri.

Haters Take 2 Steps Back!!

"Work it, make it, do it, Makes us harder, better, faster, STRONGER!"

That's right, Kanye West and the gang will be back in the Valley on June 8th for their Glow In The Dark Tour. You better believe I'll be at Jobbing.com Arena for that one! Back in 2001-2002, when Kanye was still fresh on the scene with his debut album The College Dropout and nobody even knew who John Legend was, a few of my boys and I went to check out The College Dropout Tour which was at a smaller venue at Marquee Theater in Tempe. Man, lemme tell you, the show was off the hook. Probably the best concert I've been to in my life! He had Dilated Peoples open for him and they got the crowd hype!! I remember my boy Dewitz was about to scrap a girl cause she grabbed his hat! We had front row seats and everything for $30. Hope this time around is just as good.

As some of you may know, Raja Bell suffered a high ankle sprain last Wednesday night while playing against the Seattle Supersonics. Ironically, I too suffered a high ankle sprain last Wednesday playing pick up ball at LA Fitness. Its been a week now and the swelling has gone down immensley. However, it is still pretty tender and certainly a sight for sore eyes. The color of my right foot resembles the same colors as the Phoenix Suns, purple and orange (kinda orange). Anyways, I thought that Raja would be out for some time but he was playing on Monday night against the Pistons. So the question is....should I play tonight in my city league championship game? I bought a nice ankle brace and my ankle doesn't hurt when I walk on it. But I do know that it should be rested.

Who's Got The Snaps On The Petro??!!

New Record today: $110 a barrel!!

I hate complaining about the cost per gallon for this stuff because I know folks in Cali have it worse than me.  But here in Zona, its about $3.11 a gal.  What's it like in your neck of the woods?

I need to cop a Prius or something stat!

On a brighter note, please stop by Continuous Thought and see what the homie J has to say about the unorthodox path that our good friend Mark Hirleman has chosen to take.

Stick Wit'cha Entree and Get Over Your Side

"Don't Kill Me Young Blood! I Got Kids, A Girlfriend, A Wife On The Side!" -Pinky

I'm sure by now most of you have heard of the sex scandal that the Governor of New York, Eliot Spitzer, has been caught up in. But in case you haven't heard the news, this scumbag has been tied to a prostitution ring, also known as the Emperors Club; and has allegedly paid a prostitute, Kirsten, $4,300 to have matress mambo with her in a Washington hotel.

Anyways, dude got caught up by the media and his dirty laundry was exposed to the world. Apparently the guy is an exhibitionist because sources at Telegraph.co.uk reports that a "booking agent is alleged to have told the prostitute, named Kirsten, that the client "would ask you to do things that ... you might not think were safe ... very basic things"."..........whoa, weirdo alert!

So in lieu of staying in office, he has been asked to resign within the next 48 hours or he will basically be impeached. Not only is he going to step down from his position, but other consequences are sure to come. For example, his relationship with his wife? He also has 3 daughters who all look old enough to know what is going on. If you're placed in a high profiled position, wouldn't you have been a little bit more inconspicuous when dealing with hookers? Really? Out of all places he sets up a rendezvous in a hotel in D.C.? If you're the Governor of New York State, I'm pretty sure you'll be recognized in D.C. So what do you tell your kids?

"Daddy is sorry because he has some serious fetishes that your mother can't satisfy?"

Anyways, this dude gets the scumbag of the 2nd quarter award. I hope it was worth it homie!

Korean BBQ Anyone?

Recently my buddy Matt, who resides in Brentwood, CA sent me a picture of some Korean BBQ ribs. I mean this dude knows whats really good in LA when it comes to good Korean food. His palate is similiar to mine so i could only imagine him savoring the tender and sweet beef ribs with his eyes closed (or maybe they look closed cause our eyes are slanted) with a satisfied head nod of approval. I know that some of my people already know that Korean BBQ is a real special and cultural treat, but for those of you who do not know, let me put you on game with some easy to follow guidelines.

  1. Come prepared to eat and drink (this isn't for the faint of heart).

  2. Do bring an extra pair of clothes because when you get outta there, you'll smell like beef and roasted garlic for days.

  3. Please stick with an order of either beef or pork or chicken. In my opinion, just my opinion guys, I think that sticking with one choice is easier on the palate and you can enjoy just that animal for the night. (not all of you might agree).

  4. Personally I'm a red meat kinda dude. If you are the same way, please order the "cha-dol-bae-ghee" which is simply thinly sliced brisket. They also have thinly sliced ribeye steak as well, which is a close tie to the first mentioned recommendation. Also try the "galbi" which is the famous marinated spare ribs, "3 bones" is what my friends like to call it.

  5. Couple bottles of Soju is a must!! According to Wikipedia.com, soju "is a distilled beverage native to Korea and traditionally made from rice. Most brands of modern soju are now made in South Korea, supplementing or even replacing the rice with other starches such as potato, wheat, barley, sweet potato, or tapioca (called dangmil in Korean). Soju is clear in color and typically varies in alcohol content from about 20% to about 45% alcohol by volume (ABV), with 20% ABV being most common. Its taste is comparable to vodka, though often slightly sweeter due to the addition of sugar in the manufacturing process."

  6. Did I mention that Soju is a must?

  7. Finally, please enjoy this wonderful culinary experience with some great friends and family because something as interactive and fun as this is often times lost when you're accustomed to having meals on the go.

Now Matt, please be prepared when I get back out there and get ready to get your fat boy on with your homie!! I know you won't disappoint me.

*Having an experienced chopstick game will strongly work to your advantage, so Daniel and Dewitz I'm sure you'll be good. But Kellen, we may need to have a crash course in the art.

Suns Setting In The West?

"I step up in the club, they be like....whoa!"

Suns record since acquiring the Big Diesel: 3-5
  • L: Lakers VS. Suns: 130-124 (Shaq 29 min/15 pts/9 rebs)
  • W: Celtics VS. Suns: 77-85 (Shaq  26 min/4 pts/14rebs)
  • L: Pistons VS. Suns: 116-86 (Shaq 33 min/7 pts/11 rebs)
  • W: Suns VS. Grizzlies: 127-113 (Shaq 24 min/13 pts/11 rebs)
  • L: Suns VS. Hornets: 103-120 (Shaq 32 min/15 pts/7 rebs)
  • L: 76ers VS. Suns: 119-114 (Shaq 22 min/8 pts/7 rebs)
  • W: Suns VS. Blazers: 97-92 (Shaq 34 min/6 pts/13 rebs)
  • L: Suns VS. Nuggets: 113-126 (Shaq 30 min/ 12 pts/ 18 rebs)
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that the trade was terrible because the big fella is still producing some solid numbers; but when was the last time the suns dropped 3 in a row at home?  When was the last time the Suns posted 85 points?  I've also noticed that Steve Nash's game was strugglin.  How many times can Suns fans say "we just need to get our chemistry together?"

The losses that we have seen in the Shaq era are respectable, but what about that loss to the Sixers?  Or how we struggled to beat the Grizzlies?  Or how we blew another 20 point lead against the Blazers?  Is Shawn Marion saying "ha-haaaa (insert Nelson's laugh here)" in the 305?  These dudes need to get it together before its too late.  No more excuses, the western conference is tough and we need to prove we can win in the regular season; if not, how the hell are we going to survive in the playoffs against these juggernauts in the west?

Former Phoenix Suns great Kevin Johnson used to run the courts at the "Madhouse On McDowell."  Now he wants to run the streets of Sacramento?  I think it would be a good look for the city of Sactown because he's a proven leader.  I'm not sure how much he knows about politics, but he'll be surrounded by a good team of legal advisers.

Pack It Up!!

"Are you not entertained?!"

Green Bay fans took a hard hit from reality yesterday when Brett Favre announced his retirement from the great American game. After spending 17 seasons with the Green Bay Packers, he has brought in...
  • 1 Vince Lombardi trophy
  • 2 Superbowl appearances
  • 3 AP MVP awards
  • Holds the title for most career NFL touchdown passes (442)
  • Most career NFL passing yards (61,655)
  • Most career pass completions (5,377)
  • Most career pass attempts (8,758)
  • Most career NFL interceptions thrown (288)
  • Most consecutive starts as an NFL quarterback (253; 275 total starts including playoffs)
  • Most career victories as a quarterback (160)
  • A brief cameo in Something About Mary (Hahaha!! Forgot about that huh?)

Not bad for a guy who wasn't even drafted in the first round. Thanks for the memories Brett and enjoy your retirement, but i think you had another shot at the hardware next season.

Fresh On The Scene

Let's Go!!

First of all, thank you all so much for taking time out of your busy lives to stop by and check up on yours truly. I've been wanting to do this blog thing for awhile now but i have always felt like I didn't have much to say. However, as I wake up every morning and go through the everyday motions of life, I see and hear many things through every type of medium possible. Like all of you I form random opinions on such matters and I want to share those random thoughts with all of you; for example, one day (today) I stopped and said, "let's put these thoughts down so others can read what I'm thinkin." So there you go, now you know how this thing got started.

Pretty much I'ma comment on some things that I encounter on the daily, you know like people that irk me at work, how i feel about the Phoenix Suns these days, music, movies and of course delicious foods i've encountered, etc. And if any of ya'll would like to put in your two cents, please feel free and be my guest, I'd love to hear your bitchin on the everyday struggle.

The people closest to my life would tell you that I could probably be the fattest korean boy you will ever meet. By looking at the main title of this blog Food 4 Thought, it shows you that food is on my mind 24/7! But look here, I'm no 'one-trick pony,' I got plenty of things that I want to get off my chest; but that will have to wait for another day cause its about dinner time and I need to figure out what I'm going to eat.

By the way, shout outs to my boys (inspirators) that have been doin this blog thing for a cool and refreshing minute now (keep the blogs coming cause i check these on the daily): Better Than Yours, Let's Talk About It, Cognitive Reflection, Continuous Thought, and Talk To'em.
